Understanding your pain

Our physios figure out why you are experiencing pain by:

  • talking to you about your health history

  • interpreting your existing imaging

  • doing a physical assessment

  • referring you for scans and imaging.

We might use one or all of these to understand and explain your pain.

Treating your pain

Research shows that your pain is more likely to get better when you understand what is going on. Your physio will prioritise teaching you strategies and exercises that reduce your pain, which puts you in control. Some pain problems respond well to hands-on treatment, and some are a result of previous injuries that you haven’t fully recovered from. Whatever it is, we will make sure to get to the bottom of it so we can give you more than just short-term relief.
